Our Story
The Wayward Stitch was born from a desire to reconnect with a more thoughtful way of life, shaped by making do with what we have and seeing the possibility in things that already surround us.
We take inspiration from our grandmothers and from the generations of resourceful women who came before them. Women who knew that worn clothes were not simply old and that tattered papers were more than just kindling. They knew that something no longer suited to its original purpose could become something useful and beautiful.
This is where our work begins.
With imagination and care, with scraps and threads, we rework overlooked materials by hand into one-of-a-kind pieces. Each piece has its own quirks and character, carrying a little of its past into something new.
Nothing is quite perfect, and we think that is part of the beauty.
Giving Back
Our care for the world around us extends beyond the materials we use.
A portion of our proceeds is donated to animal shelters and rescue organizations in Portugal, helping support the animals and the people who work to give them the care, safety, and new beginnings they deserve.
